Verse of the Day

Knocking at the door | Print |  E-mail

"Here I am! I stand at the door an knock, anyone who hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they with me." Revelations 3:20

God is calling out to you today.  He is knocking on the door of your heart, but He will not invite Himself in.  He is waiting for you to invite Him into your heart.  Not just to the front "hall" but in every room of your heart.  No matter how dirty or disheveled it is. He can clean it up.  He will purify your heart if you let Him.

He will bring things to the surface that you would rather not think about again.  But, after He deals with them, you will be free of them forever.  You will remember, you will cry, then you will throw it away.  He will seperate you from it as far as the east is from the west.  His love heals and renews.

He will sit with you.  He will teach you His word if you let Him.  He is not boring.  He is alive and active, loving and engaging.  His spirit penetrates, His voice reassures, His breath fills you with joy, and His hands heal.

His eyes search your soul.  But there is never any shame (check out Sean's message on Overcoming Shame), only forgiveness.  Only grace.  only sweet, abiding love.  Strong, steady, tenacious love.  On the cross it was finished.  But in your heart, when you invite Him in, it's only the beginning.
