Verse of the Day

I have seen the light! | Print |  E-mail

I went into my garage the other day to get into our other fridge and realized the light had burned out in the garage. It was pitch black. I couldn’t see anything. Well, except a small amount of light coming in through the corners of the door leading to the outside. Even though it was only a tiny bit of light, it was, nonetheless, light! I made my way to the fridge by focusing on the light. Without it, it would have been very easy to stumble over something.

Perhaps you are struggling right now with a decision. Maybe your circumstances have blindsided you and you’ve lost your footing. God may even feel far away from you. Even though He is outside of time and space, He is right with you, and He can see everything. He sees the whole picture and knows the plans He has for you. He wants you to trust Him.The bible says in 1 John 1:5 that God is light and there is no darkness in him at all.” Jesus says in John 12:46 “I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the darkness.” Also, we read in Psalms 18:28, “LORD, you have brought light to my life; my God, you light up my darkness.”

There are going to be times in this life when all seems dark around you, and you’re not quite sure how to navigate through the darkness. I encourage you to look toward the light. Keep your eyes on Him and, as it says in Psalms 27:1, “The LORD is my light and my salvation-- so why should I be afraid? The LORD protects me from danger-- so why should I tremble? ” Even if our faith seems small, God says, “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a kingdom of priests, God's holy nation, His very own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9

Trust Him today to bring light into your dark place.
