Text Version I hate to admit it, but I have really fallen in love with the screening process for the TV Show American Idol. Thousands of young adults try out because they think that they have the talent and the image to make it big in the American Music Industry. Although I enjoy watching the talented people try out, I also receive a sick sense of satisfaction watching people with limited or no talent try to make the cut. The amazing thing to me is that hundreds of people that sound horrible actually think that they have what it takes. They are convinced that they are good enough. Recently this reminded me how many people think that they have what it takes to get into heaven. They think that they have been good enough, kind enough, or moral enough to warrant entrance. But, the Bible teaches that many of those people will be disappointed on the most important day of their existence. Heaven is not about being good; it is about a relationship with Jesus Christ. In American Idol, many of the contestants cringe as they prepare to hear the comments of the judges, but if you surrender your heart to Christ and allow Him to forgive your sins; you won’t have to cower on that day. Boldly and with confidence, you will receive your rewards. © 2005 Champion Ministries dba Groundwire |
