Text Version

Many people in this world have been wrongfully treated by Christians.  If someone has judged you, used you, or simply ignored you, and wore their faith as the badge that gave them the right to treat you that way, I am sorry.  You have an authentic reason to be hurt or angry, but please don’t misplace those emotions and direct them towards the God who loves you.  Although as Christians we try to please God and live by His high moral code, we often fail.

We struggle to live by our convictions. That is the reason that we need a Savior in the first place.  But, when our inconsistencies impact others, and sadly affect their perception of the creator of the Universe we are not accurately representing Jesus Christ.  When Jesus walked on the earth, he was completely loving.  Totally approachable and surprisingly enough, only scary to those that were self-obsessed and heartlessly religious.  If you had known Him, you would have felt cared for and you would have known that His invitation for a personal relationship was not just for some, but specifically for you.

So, next time that I or someone like me remind you of our own frailties by doing something unkind, please remember that God is not inconsistent.  Please remember that all people of faith are human who continue to  struggle to make our convictions real,  God is perfect.  And so is his love for you.  © 2007 Champion Ministries dba Groundwire
