Text Version The door shut behind me normally, but within seconds, I heard it lock from the outside. Confused, I stood there in my friend’s garage knocking on the door. Then, I heard my tormenters laughing. They were standing behind me outside the window with their b-b guns in their hands. As they began to shoot into the garage they made it a point not to hit me directly, but they enjoyed seeing me panic in my vulnerability. That episode simply added to my insecurities and feelings that I was all alone and awkward. Back then I used to think that I was the only one in the world who felt isolated, lonely, and picked on, but now I realize that I felt what many others feel. So many people in this world walk through life feeling like something is wrong with them. They have been hurt by people that should have protected them, and the verbal jabs that they have experienced, have worked to effectively strip them of their dignity, confidence, and esteem. However, I have also come to realize that there is someone who cares. When you feel like you can’t go on and that the world’s attacks are too severe, you can be assured that your garage door will open and God will rush to your aide. © 2005 Champion Ministries dba Groundwire
