Text Version His name was Widow Maker and he weighed just over 1500 pounds. He had huge horns and a bad attitude, but somehow I had been talked into trying to ride him. As this animal glanced over his shoulder at his uninvited guest, he knew that I wasn’t a cowboy. On the contrary, I was a city boy. As I stepped over the fence and straddled the bull, I was wearing Calvin Klein jeans, an Eddie Bauer sweatshirt, and van tennis shoes. But, I wasn’t going to let the fact that I was not dressed for the part stop me. Unfortunately, I learned quickly that this was not my gift. I didn’t last eight seconds. I am not even sure I lasted one. As soon as the gate opened, I was flying through the air. I landed right next to my smelly giant stunned, and unable to move. Have you ever landed with a thud? Maybe you didn’t get kicked off of an animal, but maybe life threw you an unexpected twist and you didn’t land on your feet. Maybe you feel like you are laying there now too stunned to move forward in your convictions or towards your God. Well, if you have, I want to remind you that God is right there to help you up, dust you off, and help you get right again. All you have to do is ask for his help. © 2005 Champion Ministries dba Groundwire |
