Voice in the box | Print |  E-mail

Text Version

Hearing the voice, the two year old looked around the room trying to uncover where it was coming from.  Knowing that I had his attention, I pushed my prank further.  Speaking into the microphone I whispered, “Michael, I’m in the box”.  Looking at the speaker right next to him, he gazed in curiously.  Again, I spoke.  “Michael, can you see me.”  Still looking into the box, he nodded his head.  “Michael, I’m waving, why aren’t you waving back?”  With absolutely no expression on his face, he began to wave into the box as if he were greeting someone.

The little boy didn’t know that it was me speaking to him.  The only reason that I was able to have fun with him this way is because he didn’t recognize my voice and he did not realize where it was coming from.  I believe that God still speaks to His people.  Every day, he calls them by name.  He offers encouragement, direction, and wisdom, but many people don’t recognize his voice or realize where it is coming from.  Just like little Michael, they wander around not realizing that it is God who is speaking to them.

However, you don’t have to be that way.  If you take time, you can learn to discern God’s voice and you can discover how to listen to Him.    © 2005 Champion Ministries dba Groundwire
